Polyester filter bags are one of the most widely used filter bags in industrial dust collection applications. They are constructed using high-quality polyester fabric, which provides robustness and dimensional stability. As a filtration media, polyester has the following characteristics:
Filtration Efficiency – The tight polyester fabric structure traps even the smallest particles, ensuring a high level of filtration efficiency. This makes polyester filter bags particularly effective in removing fine particles and dust from dust-laden gas.
Excellent Tensile Strength and Abrasion Resistance – This allows them to withstand high-flow rates and pressure differentials without tearing or disintegrating.
Excellent Mechanical & Dimensional Stability – Polyester filter bags are dimensionally stable and have low shrinkage properties. This ensures that they maintain their shape and size even under high-temperature conditions.
Easy Cleaning – Polyester filter bags can be easily cleaned and reused, reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing waste.

In addition to these filtration characteristics, polyester filter bags also offer a number of other advantages, such as:
Long Service Life – The durability of polyester filter bags results in longer service life, reducing the need for frequent bag replacements.
Easy Maintenance – Polyester filter bags are easy to clean and maintain, allowing for efficient and convenient filter bag cleaning processes with minimum maintenance costs.
Versatility – Polyester filter bags are available in various sizes, shapes, and configurations, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial filtration applications.
Cost Effective – Polyester filter bags are relatively affordable compared to other filter bag materials, making them a cost-effective choice for filtration applications.

Scrim-supported felt is used exclusively in the production of our polyester filter bags in order to improve filtration efficiency and extend the filter bag life.

Construction & Treatment

Polyester filter media can be constructed and treated with various options so that they become best suited for various operating conditions, applications, and industries.

Filter Media Construction

Needle Felting
Needle Felting is a traditional non-woven fabrication process by punching a fiber batt into itself to hook and entangle fibers which then form a thin, relatively dense structure, either with or without a light woven support scrim. Needlefelt filter media have smooth surfaces and offer good depth filtration and particle capture. To further improve filtration efficiency and filter bag life, Aokai custom designs and manufactures Dual-Density Polyester Filter Media. In a genuine dual-density filter media, two layers of media of different density are separated by a scrim in the middle that provides dimensional stability and a densified central core which improves filtration efficiency by minimizing dust migration through the felt. The scrim structure offers a clear advantage over unsupported felts (without scrim) which are produced in a single process with a homogeneous fiber blend and filtration characteristics only.
Spunlacing (hydro-entagling)
Spunlacing is a revolutionary hydro-entangling nonwoven fabrication process that is used to entangle fibers with high-pressure water jets. The spunlacing process creates a unique balance of lower mean pore size in a mass-efficient structure, which delivers industry-leading dust collection performance. It represents a new paradigm in filtration media by delivering a product with dramatically improved filtration efficiency, an inherent ability to promote surface dust collection, lower pressure drop over time, and a reduction in pulse cleaning cycle times.

Filter Media Treatment

ePTFE Membrane
Adding an ePTFE membrane to an acrylic filter bag allows the membrane to act as the filter cake. Dust stays on the surface of the membrane and does not get entrained into the fibers of the filter bag, which lengthens the filter bag life. It also reduces wear and tear, lower maintenance costs, and energy costs due to easy dust cake release during the cleaning cycle.
Hydro-Oleophobic Coating
This coating adds resistance to water and oils, and improves cake release.
Static Resistant
Helps to ground the filter bag to eliminate sparks that might cause combustion explosions.
This treatment process removes straggly fibers from the filter material and provides a uniform surface area which improves cake release.
Glazing, also known as calendering, is the high-pressure pressing of the fabric by rollers to flatten or smooth the surface. Glazing pushes the surface fibers down onto the body of the filter media to increase and uniform surface life, improve stability, reduce shrinkage, and improve dust cake release.
